The Lakhe Dance 2026 of Siddhipur, Thasi, Lalitpur, Nepal The Lakhe dance, performed by bhajan khalas (musical troupes) to the accompaniment of instruments like the Dhime*, *Bhusya*, and *Dapha during Siddhipur’s Gula festival, stands as a vibrant symbol of the locality's religious faith, cultural identity, community unity, and intergenerational continuity. The appearance of the Lakhe, the rhythm of the instruments, the melodies of the *bhajans*, and the active participation of local residents all combine to create a unique cultural atmosphere in Siddhipur. Therefore, it is essential to preserve and document this tradition—and pass it on to the next generation—not merely as a form of dance or entertainment, but as an integral part of Siddhipur’s indigenous intangible cultural heritage.
