They Made an AI the Boss of Real Workers. Humans Had to Step In.

A small company made an AI the boss of a real shop in San Francisco, with human workers. It said yes to almost everything and it forgot things, so people from the company had to step in. Six months on, the company says the shop has made no profit. What is it like to work for a boss that is a computer program? Its people rented the shop, named the AI Luna and told it to hire. By law the staff work for the company, not for the AI. Its people still approve big purchases. They can stop Luna's decisions, and say they have done so. What does it gain? A test in the real world, attention, and since September 2026 a waiting list for its own software, built to run a business. It says it works with the companies that build AI, including Anthropic, which made Claude, the AI that Luna runs on.
