All aboard the MBTA Commuter Rail for a scenic ride from Manchester-by-the-Sea, Massachusetts, back to Boston's North Station! It's Saturday, October 10, 2026, and after an unexpected adventure exploring Manchester-by-the-Sea, we're heading home aboard the Newburyport/Rockport Line. I managed to get a window clean enough to film through, so you can enjoy the journey across Boston's North Shore, passing through Beverly, Salem, Swampscott, Chelsea, and finally into Boston. Along the way, we'll see suburban neighborhoods, railway stations, autumn scenery, and the changing landscape as we approach the city. We also pass through Salem during its busy Halloween season, when visitors arrive from all over to experience the city's famous Haunted Happenings celebrations. The commuter rail is an important transportation option for people heading to Salem, especially during October weekends. This approximately 55-minute train ride is presented as a relaxing, real-time travel experience, complete with the sounds of the train, station announcements, and everyday conversations aboard. *About today's adventure* I originally intended to visit Ipswich but accidentally boarded the wrong branch of the commuter rail. That mistake brought me to Manchester-by-the-Sea for the first time!
