Do you really love God? Can people experience God's love through the way you treat them? In this Sunday homily for the 30th Sunday in Ordinary Time, Fr. Rinoj James CMI reflects on the heart of the Christian life: loving God with all our heart and loving our neighbour as ourselves. Jesus teaches us that these two commandments are inseparable. Our prayers, Holy Mass, devotion to the Rosary, and participation in the sacraments must lead us to greater compassion, forgiveness, generosity, and care for those who suffer. Through the readings from Exodus 22:21–27, 1 Thessalonians 1:5–10, and Matthew 22:34–40, we discover that authentic Christian faith must be visible in our daily lives. How do we treat our family members? Do we forgive those who hurt us? Do we care for the poor, support struggling families, encourage young people, and visit the sick and lonely? Powerful message of this homily: “The hands we fold in prayer must also open in compassion.” Let us become people who do not merely speak about God's love but make that love visible in our homes, parishes, and communities. 🙏 A moment for reflection: Is there someone I need to forgive?
