Kroger's standing senior discount is gone. It was phased out region by region between roughly 2017 and 2024, with no announcement — and I say that in the first minute.
But Kroger changed its entire rewards programme in June 2026, and most of its own shoppers haven't noticed. Here are fourteen real ways somebody over sixty pays less there, every one graded out loud — free, discount, depends on your store, or dead — and dated to September 2026.
WHAT'S IN THIS ONE
1. Senior Discount Days — regional, occasional, typically 5% for 55+ — DEPENDS ON YOUR STORE
2. Your shop might BE a Kroger: Ralphs, Fred Meyer, King Soopers, Fry's, Smith's, QFC, Dillons, Harris Teeter, Pick 'n Save, Mariano's, City Market and more
3. The Plus card is free — and shelf price vs card price are two different numbers
4. Digital coupons only come off if they're CLIPPED before you shop
5. Free Friday Download — an actual free product, claimable only on the day
6. ⚰️ The Kroger Health Savings Club (the $36/yr prescription club) — ENDED 7 March 2026
7. The one question at the pharmacy counter: cash price vs copay
8. Kroger, Private Selection and Simple Truth — three tiers, not one
9. ⭐ THE POINTS CHANGE (25 June 2026) — "Fuel Points" are now "Points" and 100 of them is $1 off your GROCERIES, up to $10/day
10. Points expire on the last day of the month AFTER you earn them
11. Gift-card Points events — the biggest lever in the store, and the one real trap
12. Markdown stickers and the hour of the day — ask once, know for ten years
13. Boost — $69 Essential / $99 full, 30-day trial, and it does NOT cover fuel or prescriptions
14. Pickup — free over a minimum at most stores, and it isn't delivery
TELL ME YOUR TOWN
Senior Discount Days are a division-by-division thing and there is no national list. Leave a comment with your town and whether yours has ever run one — I read every one and I answer them, and I use them to build the next list.

Everything here was checked in September 2026 against Kroger's own programme pages and its 25 June 2026 rewards announcement. Policies and prices change and vary by division — always confirm with the business before you rely on it. Eleven of these fourteen are open to everybody; Kroger has no standing age-based programme, and I say so in the video.
