Bristol, You Raised Me by Nyah Stokes

Nyah Stokes was born in 1990 in St Pauls, Bristol — the neighbourhood where the city's sound systems took root long before anyone called it trip-hop. She grew up with bass coming through the walls, her mother's pirate radio and her grandmother's dub records, never knowing it was a scene — it was just the sound of home. Now in her thirties, she carries that sound into a faster, harder world. Smoky, rough-edged, unapologetically extravagant, she talks her verses fast and crooked, then throws the chorus wide open. Echoes of the nineties, sung from today's streets. #tiphop #triphop #bristolsound #bristol #downtempo #soulful #femalevocalist #breakbeats #90smusic #dubwise #vinylvibes Lyrics: Tomáš Merlin Ježek Vocals: virtual band Nyah Stokes (Suno 6) Music: virtual band Nyah Stokes (Suno 6) Postproduction: Tomáš Merlin Ježek Bristol trip-hop by virtual artist Nyah Stokes — smoky verses, wide choruses, dusty breakbeats and dubwise bass from the city where the sound was born.
