Bible Study 1: What Is Possible Through Christ?

What is impossible for us becomes possible with God—but what does that actually mean for the Christian life? In our first Bible study, we spend time with two powerful statements from Jesus: Matthew 19:26 and John 14:6. In Matthew 19:26, Jesus reminds His disciples that there are things humanity simply cannot accomplish on its own: “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” Then, in John 14:6, Jesus makes one of the clearest statements about His identity and our salvation: He is the way, the truth, and the life. Together, these passages point us toward an important truth. Christianity isn't ultimately about accomplishing the impossible through our own strength. It's about recognizing our dependence on God and understanding that the way to Him has been provided through Jesus Christ. For this study, we also did something a little different—we brought Redemption, the collectible Christian trading card game created by Cactus Game Design, to the table! Redemption uses people, events, places, and themes from Scripture as the foundation for a strategy card game. Cactus Game Design describes the game as one of “biblical adventure,” where players use Heroes to rescue Lost Souls while overcoming opposing Evil Characters. The cards themselves draw their inspiration from Scripture and include biblical references, making the game a unique way to encounter biblical people and ideas while enjoying some friendly competition. A huge thank-you and shoutout to Cactus Game Design and the people behind Redemption for creating something that can bring together gaming, fellowship, and conversations about Scripture. We had a great time playing Redemption alongside our study, and we're excited to continue finding ways to use it as part of our Bible study and fellowship. If you'd like to learn more about Redemption, see the available cards and starter decks, or learn how to play, check out the official Cactus Game Design website: Cactus Game Design: https://www.cactusgamedesign.com/ Redemption: https://www.cactusgamedesign.com/rede... Whether you're opening a Bible, sitting around a table playing a game, or simply asking questions about faith, our goal remains the same: to grow in our understanding of God, His Word, and what it means to follow Christ in today's world. Join us as we study Scripture, ask questions, play some Redemption, and continue growing together.
