Saint Dolly

This week the world has celebrated the legacy of the great Dolly Parton, particularly her humanitarianism and investment in lifting up others. That generosity was tied to her upbringing and to her faith, which she referenced regularly. Some have described Dolly as having a rogue faith outside the structures of regular church attendance, but her Christianity was quite true to the earliest generations of disciples who were learning what it meant to follow Jesus in the earliest years after his life, death, and resurrection.
