Sin does not have the final word. Death does not have the final word. Jesus Christ does. Although Monday's Rosary traditionally meditates on the Joyful Mysteries, today's feast gives those mysteries a profound perspective. At the Annunciation, Mary's yes begins a journey that will eventually lead her to stand faithfully beneath the Cross. At the Nativity, the Savior enters the world. Through every mystery of Christ's life, God's plan of salvation moves toward the Cross and ultimately the Resurrection. If you are carrying a cross today, bring it to Jesus. If you are exhausted by what life has placed before you, ask Him for strength. If you do not understand why you are suffering, remain close to Christ. If you are afraid of what lies ahead, ask for courage to take the next step. And if your cross feels too heavy, remember that you do not carry it alone.
