Microbiology: Slide Coagulase Test

This video describes the slide coagulase test purpose, principle, procedure, and result interpretation. Two different types of slides are used for example purposes. Negative slide coagulase tests should be confirmed by a tube coagulase test. Although the slide coagulase test detects bound coagulase and takes seconds to perform, the tube coagulase test detects free coagulase and can take up to 24 hours to perform.
