Gunbattle with rebels in Kashmir enters 3rd day

Various of armed soldiers standing behind wall STORYLINE: A standoff between security forces and a handful of rebels holed up in a building in the Indian portion of Kashmir continued for a third day on Monday. The standoff started on Saturday when the militants fired automatic rifles as they ambushed a convoy of Indian paramilitary soldiers before taking refuge in the nearby government building. Two paramilitary soldiers and one civilian were killed in that fighting and then on Sunday the rebels, numbering two to three, fired guns and grenades killing two army captains and a soldier belonging to the army's special forces, according to an army spokesman.
