29.04.24 | Nirmal Kutiya, Karnal Today's Vak - ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਪਰੋਇਆ ॥ हरि नामु रिदै परोइआ ॥ Har nām riḏai paroiā. I have woven the Lord's Name into the fabric of my heart. ਸਭੁ ਕਾਜੁ ਹਮਾਰਾ ਹੋਇਆ ॥ सभु काजु हमारा होइआ ॥ Sabẖ kāj hamārā hoiā. All my affairs are resolved. Ang 627 SGGS (Raag Sorath, Guru Arjan Dev Ji) HH Mahant Baba Ram Singh Ji Maharaj, reads from Sahaj Katha - a sacred compilation of teachings (vachan) uttered by his Guru, Sant Baba Nikka Singh Ji Maharaj 'Virakat'. Just as a thread is woven into a needle and follows wherever the needle goes, I have woven the Name of the Lord into the fabric of my heart, Guru Arjan Dev Ji teaches. The Name leads the devotee to the Divine, just like the needle guides the thread. When the heart is imbued with the Lord, all tasks are fulfilled effortlessly, with His grace. Amritsar became the primary pilgrimage site, Tarn Taran Sahib was established, the foundation for the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji was laid down with the compilation of Adi Granth and, the city of Kartarpur was founded. Guru Arjan dev Ji asserts that whatever was ordained by his Guru, all the tasks were thus accomplished. Guru Arjan Dev Ji states that when one's mind is immersed in the divine sanctuary, all tasks are accomplished by the Divine. In such a state, worries cease to exist. For those blessed with great fortune, their minds are devoted to the feet of the Divine, their hearts intertwined with the Name. With his very own example, Guru Sahib teaches us how to seek the Lord's blessings. Find the company of Holy Saints and surrender your self at their lotus feet. Through their grace, chant the Naam, the Name of the Lord, meditate upon the Naam continuously. Contemplate solely on God, dedicate yourself unceasingly to the Lord. "The accumulated selfless merits of past actions have now borne fruit. This isn't merely a tale of today; it extends beyond time." Through past deeds, one finds union with the Divine. The soul becomes attached to the Name of Ram, the all pervading Lord, in such a manner. When all the merits gather to bestow their fruits, that's when the soul becomes connected with the Divine Naam. Sage Tulsidas, in the Ramayana, writes, "Without the accumulation of merits, the saint is not found." When the merits gather together, God gifts us a divine meeting with the true saint. Through the encounter with the true saint, the Naam is attained. And through the attainment of the Naam, the Divine is realized. Guru Arjan Dev Ji reflects on the blessings bestowed by virtuous deeds from past lives, culminating in divine union with Guru Ram Das Ji. Thus, all accomplishments are dedicated to the Guru, whose grace orchestrates success. This is Maharaj Ji's message for us: That through this path, the blessed vision and union with the Lord are attained. Body and mind are forever imbued with the divine essence. The mind is enraptured and illuminated by the Divine, while the body is wholly devoted to selfless service. Guru Sahib teaches us humility and the path of dedicating one's body, mind, and life to the service of God. This is the way to live, for in doing so, you continually sing the praises of the Lord and inspire love for the Divine in others as well.
