In this episode we continue The Sound Mind Series with a Bible study through Revelation Chapters 6 & 7, where John’s vision takes us through the opening of the seals, the Four Horsemen, conflict, famine, death, the martyrs, cosmic disturbances, the 144,000, the Great Tribulation, and ultimately an incredible picture of hope before the throne of God.
Revelation can be intimidating. But this episode isn't about creating fear.
It’s about understanding God’s Word, waking up spiritually, and being prepared.
In Revelation 6, we walk through the opening of the first six seals and the events John sees unfold. We look at the white, red, black, and pale horses; peace being taken from the earth; scarcity and famine; widespread death; the cry of the martyrs; and the extraordinary events surrounding the sixth seal.
Then Revelation 7 gives us another powerful picture.
We read about the 144,000 from the tribes of Israel being sealed, followed by a great multitude from every nation, tribe, people, and tongue standing before God and the Lamb.
And after everything described in these chapters, Revelation 7 ends with one of the most beautiful promises:
“For the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will shepherd them and lead them to living fountains of waters. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.” — Revelation 7:17 NKJV
That verse reminds us of something important: Revelation isn't only about judgment. There is also salvation, hope, restoration, and the promise of eternity with Jesus.
So instead of finishing this episode asking, “Should I be scared?” I want us to ask some different questions:
Am I really saved?
Am I spiritually prepared?
Am I focusing on the things of this world more than my relationship with God?
What am I doing with the time God has given me right now?
Because one of my biggest takeaways from studying these chapters was simple:
Slow down. Focus on what actually matters.
Our accomplishments, possessions, money, status, and everything else we spend so much time chasing here cannot give us what Jesus can. As you put it in the episode, “This isn't to be afraid, this is to be prepared.”
