Step inside another real Old Money New England home this time a historic country estate in coastal Massachusetts, filled with antiques, American folk art, historic architecture and generations of collected pieces. This house is very different from the more polished Old Money New England interiors I’ve shared before. There is SO much to look at and it made me think about the fine line between a home feeling beautifully collected and simply having too much of a good thing. I’m sharing the details I loved like the incredible wide-plank floors, historic fireplaces, antique furniture and old rugs along with a few things I’d edit or leave in the past. I love touring real historic New England homes because they show us that “Old Money style” isn't really one decorating style at all. Each house is different, but certain things keep showing up: beautiful craftsmanship, natural materials, antiques, art and pieces that were meant to last.
