Drei Phantastische Lieder - Nebojša Jovan Živković

„Drei Phantastische Lieder“ (Three Fantastic Songs) is one of my favorite pieces by Nebojša Jovan Živković. His op.5 was inspired by Shostakovich’s op.5 „Three Fantastic Dances“. It was written in 1983, in remembrance of the victims of fascist, socialist and communist regimes. It speaks against totalitarian governments in general and shows their absurdity from a pacifist’s perspective. Still relevant today!
