How Mets reacted to fans rooting for Pete Alonso's HR at Citi Field: 'It's crazy' | LIVE discussion

NJ.com Mets reporter Max Goodman is live discussing how Mets fans reacted to Pete Alonso hitting his 300th career home run at Citi Field on Tuesday night, a win for the Orioles in extra innings. It doesn't sound like Mets players were thrilled with how their fan base cheered for the opposing team, even if it's Alonso. Alonso homered off Mets closer Kodai Senga to tie the game in the ninth inning. Similar to his first game back in Queens on Monday, Mets fans were rooting for Alonso to go deep. That didn't change, even in a save situation when New York was trying to record the final few outs to win the game. Alonso even got a curtain call after his home run — a visiting player getting that kind of ovation from the home crowd in that situation is unprecedented... It's clear that Mets players weren't thrilled with the way fans reacted. Starter Sean Manaea spoke about it after the game. Goodman breaks it all down and then gives his take.
