'Babe Ruth' is a 1991 Elliot Friedgen & Company production originally broadcast on the NBC Sunday Night Movie October 6, 1991. It is a biographical docudrama about baseball home-run legend Babe Ruth's (Stephen Lang) life from his sale by the Red Sox to the Yankees in December 1919 to his last home run with the Boston Braves in 1935. It includes Ruth's feuds with Yankee Manager Miller Huggins (Bruce Weitz) and Yankee owner Jacob Ruppert (Donald Moffat). Also features a cameo appearance by baseball great Pete Rose as Ty Cobb. Adapted in part from Kal Wagenheim's 1974 biography 'Babe Ruth: His Life and Legend' and Robert W. Creamer's 1974 biography 'Babe: The Legend Comes to Life'.
