Ep 7 - Two Bolts Short of a Passing Grade

In this episode, Brooke and Eric return after a short hiatus to share an honest update on life lately, from moving into a new place to navigating the chaos of Level 2 trade school. They dive into the realities of balancing school, work, and life, touching on everything from exhausting schedules and financial adjustments to the mental challenges that come with the trades. Through stories from the classroom and shop, they highlight the differences between expectations and reality in trade school, the importance of asking questions, and how friendships and humour help get them through it. The conversation also explores what they wish they knew before starting, what it really takes to succeed, and why - despite the stress - it’s all worth it. 00:00 New Beginnings: Moving and Podcasting Challenges 02:57 School Life: Balancing Assignments and Exams 05:58 Sleep Deprivation: The Struggles of a Busy Schedule 09:00 Trade School Insights: Leveling Up in Skills 11:58 Classroom Dynamics: The Reality of Group Projects 14:58 Humour in the Chaos: Light Moments in Trade School 20:51 The Disappearance of Herb 26:26 Navigating School Challenges 30:04 Excitement for Future Opportunities 40:40 Expectations vs. Reality in Trade School 42:10 Expectations vs. Reality of Trade School 44:15 The Fast-Paced Nature of Learning 46:41 Balancing Work and Study 47:09 Navigating the Trade School Experience 49:00 Comparing Yourself to Others 51:36 Understanding if Trades are Right for You 52:22 The Hardest Parts of Trade School 53:14 Finding Motivation on Bad Days 53:34 Personality Traits for Success in Trades 54:12 Personal Reflections and Life Adjustments Pod links Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/twoboltssho...
