We, the Sanibasorians comprising a close group of friends and our families visited and stayed for two days from 15-17th August 2014 in "Satkahonia Tepantore" refers to the Tepantar Theatre Village located in Satkahania village, Paschim Bardhaman district, West Bengal close to the Ajay River. It is about 23 km away from Bolpur (Santiniketan) and 70 km from Burdwan. It is a well-known eco-cultural hub and India's first residential theatre village. Built in 1998 by Sri Kallol Bhattacharya and his theatre group "Ebong Amra" to foster rural arts. It serves as a living space and creative residency for folk dancers, musicians, actors, and artisans.
while returning on 17th August 2014 we visited the nearby Bankati is a historic village located on the south bank of the Ajay River in Pachim Bardhaman district near Illambazar and close to the border of Bankura and Birbhum districts; about 27 km away from Shantiniketan. Bankati is renowned for its rich collections of traditional Bengal terracotta architecture like Gopaleshwar Shiva Temple - A prominent south-facing pancha-ratna (five-spired) temple built in 1832 by the local Jaminders of Mukherjee families, featuring intricate terracotta panels depicting mythological scenes, Ram-Sita, Kali, Durga. I, Swapan Kumar Das, along with my Sanibasorian friend Abhijit Sen captured all the image here and took the responsibility to upload it in the YouTube with out any commercial intension or publicity.
