Scenes 'n' Soundwaves Top 100 of 1987

The Scenes 'n' Soundwaves Top 100 of 1987. These were among my favorite songs of 1987. I originally compiled this list at the end of that year, and I thought it would be cool to revisit my list and put videos to them. For myself, I was straddling both Top 40 and Mainstream Rock radio, thus there is a mix of basically those two genres. Looking at the list, it appears that "Freestyle", a dance music sub-genre, dominated the year, and was arguably the peak year of that genre. Then of course there was Glam (Hair) Metal, and several songs represent that as well. But more mainstream rock and even what would later be called "Modern Rock" and "Alternative" was starting to infiltrate my listening habits. Those songs that charted on the Billboard Hot 100 have its peak position shown; if the song didn't make that chart, the peak for Mainstream Rock Tracks is indicated. A few songs didn't chart at all, but in all cases I had heard it on some radio stations.
