Severe Weather Awareness Week Tornado Warning Siren Ambience - Milwaukee, WI - 4/14/26 & 4/17/26

I guess the man above decided that Severe Weather Awareness Week in Wisconsin would be full of severe weather this year... What better way to make folks more aware than with some storm warnings? Going into this week, I knew there was going to be bad storms Tuesday night. Monday night I got a surprise text from a friend saying the sirens in Menomonee Falls were going off. I wasn't expecting any storms that night, so I rushed outside and sure enough, they were sounding for a tornado warning in southern Waukesha County. It amazes me that I'm able to hear the Falls' T-128s from my house considering the distance between my residence and them. I didn't used to be able to hear their old RM-130s from my house. As Monday night's storm kept moving east, eventually Milwaukee issued a tornado warning and we even got a double activation here. I didn't get any proper video from Monday as I was outside recording on my phone. Onto Tuesday, this was probably the worst day for storms around my area. The actual tornado polygon and main rotation extended near my neck of the woods with its path being only a couple miles from me. There was no double activation for Milwaukee, though Menomonee Falls' 128s were heard very well this day. As for other surrounding communities, I heard Mequon's T-135 AC/DCs as well as possibly one of Germantown's SRNDCs (which would be a first) as the storm went through Ozaukee County and parts of Washington County. Neither of which did I record ambience for. Wednesday there wasn't much, only some thunderstorms but nothing major. Before the rain that night, NWS cancelled the statewide drill originally scheduled for the following day even though no storms would present for the day. You can read more about it in my Cassville video if you're so inclined. Friday, the tornado warnings were back. It was another double activation day, and the Hurricane wind up at 11:30 was spectacular. That might be the best its ever sounded from my house, and it certainly helped that it was facing my direction when it wound up. For every Milwaukee County siren activation during the week, the P-50 at the army center along with the T-128s at Brown Deer High School and at Wyrick Park (Green Tree Rd) all failed to activate every time. BDHS I am in no way surprised about since it hasn't worked since it got hooked up to power, and the army center 50 has had RTU issues for a long while now. Wyrick was just switched onto the NextGen system, so that surprised me. This week was also the last time ever the original Brown Deer Park T-128 would sound as just a week later or so, it got replaced with a fresh 128. All in all, it was a very eventful week.
