Cherry Hill - Simone Ellis

*CHERRY HILL* Performed by Simone Ellis — a soulful reflection on childhood, family, and the musical roots that shape who we become. Born in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, just across the Delaware River from Philadelphia, Simone grew up in a home filled with music. Her father, an electrical engineer and amateur jazz pianist, introduced her to the rich harmonies of jazz, while the sounds of Philadelphia's emerging neo-soul movement beckoned from across the river. Cherry Hill is a musical remembrance of those formative years: rainy evenings, her father's piano, distant city lights, and the irresistible pull of a musical world waiting just beyond the horizon. Built around warm Fender Rhodes electric piano, melodic bass, relaxed hip-hop-influenced drums, and sophisticated jazz harmonies, the song captures Simone's signature neo-soul sound. Her intimate, understated vocals reflect a musical philosophy she learned from her father: sometimes the notes you don't play are just as important as the ones you do. "Cherry Hill is where I learned to listen, where the quiet had a sound." A song about discovering your own voice while never forgetting where it came from. Released November 2026.
