Pray This When Bad News Comes | Standing Firm When Everything Shakes

Did you just receive news that changed everything? The diagnosis. The layoff. The betrayal. The loss. And now your world is spinning? Maybe you just hung up the phone and you're sitting there numb, trying to process what you heard. Or you opened the email and your stomach dropped. Maybe the doctor just said the words you've been dreading, or someone you trusted just shattered your world with a single sentence. Bad news doesn't have the authority to write your final chapter. God does. In this prayer, we'll turn to Psalm 112—a passage that doesn't promise exemption from bad news, but promises a different way to face it. We'll learn that when devastating news comes, our hearts don't have to collapse. They can remain firm, not because the news isn't terrible, but because our trust is in Someone bigger than the news. I invite you to pray with me as we bring this fresh wound before our Father who is sovereign over what just happened and what comes next. 📖 SCRIPTURE FOUNDATION "He is not afraid of bad news; his heart is firm, trusting in the Lord.
