Share A Dream Come True Parade - The Magic Kingdom (2004)

"Share a Dream Come True Parade" made its historic debut on October 1, 2001, as the flagship daytime entertainment piece for Magic Kingdom’s 100 Years of Magic Celebration. Commemorating the 100th anniversary of Walt Disney's birth, this 30-minute afternoon procession is legendary among theme park fans for introducing an incredibly unique visual hook: placing Disney characters inside giant, functional snow globes. Key Highlights from the 2001 Era • The Fighter-Jet Acrylic Globes: The parade consisted of eight massive floats, each sporting a clear acrylic dome measuring 8½ feet in diameter. To safely withstand the outdoor elements, the spheres were made of 400 pounds of specialized high-grade plastic—the exact same material used for the windshields of military fighter jets. • The "Pixie Dust" Show Stops: Winding from Frontierland to Main Street, U.S.A., the floats would periodically ground to a halt. The sweeping, orchestral theme song would transition into custom movie themes as internal blowers activated inside the domes, churning a flurry of glittering "pixie dust" confetti around the characters inside the globes. • The Julie Andrews Narration: The grand procession was formally opened by a regal recorded voiceover by Disney Legend Julie Andrews, who invited the audience to "share a dream come true" and remember the everlasting power of imagination. • The Distinct Snow-Globe Units: • It Was All Started by a Mouse: The opening float featured Mickey Mouse inside the globe, surrounded by 11 meticulously sculpted figures representing his historic film roles, from Steamboat Willie to Sorcerer Mickey. • Wish Upon a Star: A tribute to early animation, capturing Pinocchio inside the dome, flanked by Geppetto and the Seven Dwarfs. • A Hundred Thousand Dreams to See: Shifting to high-flying adventure with Aladdin and Jasmine waving from inside their globe, preceded by a massive inflatable Genie. • Face the Darkest Fears: A fan-favorite, menacing Disney Villains float featuring the Evil Queen inside her dome, while a towering, articulated Chernabog loomed over the back of the float. • As Long as There is Imagination: The grand finale featured a two-tiered crystal castle float with Peter Pan and Wendy soaring over the top.
