World Dance events at Lydd International Airport in Kent ,UK were iconic, massive legal raves during the 1990s that drew crowds of up to 10,000 people into massive aircraft hangars
The World Dance Era (1990s)
• The Organizer: World Dance was founded in 1989 by Anton Le Pirate and grew into one of the most prominent names in UK rave culture.
• The Venue: Large aircraft hangars and warehouses at Lydd Airport were converted to host massive crowds ranging from 7,000 to over 10,000 ravers.
• The Vibe & Scale: Events featured huge sound systems, elaborate lasers, and multi-arena setups. The airport's expansive runways were famously used as massive car parks for attendees who travelled from all over the UK.
