🌙 Let the Day Dissolve | 1 Hour of Chinese Guzheng at 432Hz for Deep Sleep & Stress Relief This is 1 hour of relaxing sleep music on the guzheng: calm sleeping music that stays soft from the first note to the last, so it can play on as deep sleep music while you drift off. One unbroken hour of **slow Chinese guzheng tuned to 432Hz**, played over a misty mountain river — silk strings left to ring out and fade, with nothing hurrying them along. Let this play while you unwind, drift toward sleep, stretch, study, or simply sit still. There are no sudden changes, no drums and no voices anywhere in the hour — only long plucked notes, a warm drone underneath, and the quiet sound of water moving through the mountains. The volume stays even from the first minute to the last, so it is safe to fall asleep to. 🎧 Perfect for: • Falling asleep without a racing mind • Letting go of a long, heavy day • Deep relaxation and slow breathing • Quiet study or focused deep work • Yoga, stretching and gentle movement • Meditation and mindfulness practice • Reading, journalling or evening tea • Calming anxiety in the background • Long spa, massage or wind-down sessions The guzheng is a Chinese zither with more than two thousand years of history, traditionally associated with scholars, mountains and flowing water. Its long resonant decay is why it suits meditation so naturally: a single note is allowed to bloom and disappear on its own, and the silence that follows is part of the music. Tuned here to 432Hz, the pitch many listeners find softer and warmer than standard tuning. Give yourself permission to do nothing for the next hour. Nothing on today's list has to be carried into tonight. Put the day down, let the strings dissolve it, and let your breathing slow to the pace of the music. High mountains and flowing water are among the oldest images in Chinese music. An old story about the qin, an ancient cousin of this zither, tells of a musician whose closest friend could hear, in his playing, first the towering peaks and then the rushing river. When the friend died, the musician is said to have broken his strings and never played again, because no one else could truly hear him. The word zhiyin, one who knows the tone, still means a true friend. The painting belongs to an old way of seeing. In Chinese landscape painting, called shan shui, which means mountain and water, artists layer misty peaks and moving rivers so the eye can wander slowly through the scene, and empty space is left on purpose for mist and sky. A misty mountain river is one of its favourite subjects, and it suits music that also leaves room. Listen to the two hands. The right hand plucks the strings, usually with small picks fastened to the fingertips, while the left hand presses the strings on the far side of the movable bridges to bend a note upward, let it slide down, or make it tremble. Those small bends at the end of each phrase are what make slow zither playing feel so close to a human voice. Players also have a way of imitating water: rapid, repeated plucking of a single string, a tremolo that makes a note shimmer like light on a river. Whenever a note seems to ripple in this hour, let it be the river in the painting, moving on without needing anything from you. To fall asleep to it, set the volume low before you lie down and leave the screen face down. The hour stays even from start to finish, so a sleep timer is optional. For daytime listening, it works well behind tea, a slow yoga session, calligraphy or long reading. If the day has been long, try this. For the first few minutes, sit up with something warm to drink while the strings begin. Then lie down, let your arms rest by your sides, and follow one note at a time from pluck to fade. Somewhere in the hour you can stop following and let the river carry on without you. The water in the painting never stops moving, yet it never hurries. That is the pace this hour is meant to set.
