A Family Lost in an Endless Blizzard Finds Shelter in a Buried Library | Cozy Animation

This cozy animation follows Thomas, Anna, their newborn baby and their golden retriever Maple on the day a giant pine, heavy with snow, snaps in the blizzard and crashes down onto their cart. Thomas throws himself clear just in time while Anna keeps the baby warm inside her coat behind a rock, but their food and blankets are crushed under the tree. With only an old brass lantern left, the family walks on through the white-out until Maple barks at a stone owl on a snowy roof: an old library buried in the snow, its glass dome glowing pale blue above the drifts. Inside, tall shelves of frozen books rise two floors high. In a small archive room Thomas clears an old stone fireplace, Anna pulls down velvet curtains for blankets, and they light a fire with a broken chair and the blank pages of an empty ledger, keeping every story safe. That night the snow cracks a pane of the great glass dome, and Thomas climbs a library ladder to brace the bending iron frame. In the morning he and Maple cross the buried town square to find food, and when the snow gives way beneath him, it is Maple who pulls him out. Back by the fire they cook a warm lentil soup, share hot cocoa and read an old picture book about a golden dog who looks just like Maple.
