Jellyfish are among the ocean’s most venomous creatures and some of its deepest divers, living at depths of over 8,300 meters. They play a vital role in marine ecosystems, supporting major fish and mammal migrations as key links in the food chain. Marine biologist Gerhard Jarms from the University of Hamburg guides us into this exotic world. The journey begins in the North Atlantic with the mysterious periphylla, continues to the Azores to find cave-dwelling jellies, and moves on to the Pacific’s famous Jellyfish Lake and Papua’s vibrant coral reefs.
