Snow College Head Basketball Coach Brad Kitchen Full Coaches Corner Interview

A new era is beginning at Snow College under first-year head coach Brad Kitchen, but the foundation that helped turn the Badgers into a JUCO powerhouse isn’t going anywhere. Kitchen spent three years working alongside former Snow head coach Andrew May and helped build many of the principles he now plans to carry forward. “A lot of the identity that I believe in was things that we had built together.” This year’s roster may look different from the size-heavy group Snow featured last season, but Kitchen believes the Badgers have a major strength in the backcourt. “I believe our guard play is going to surprise a lot of people.” That personnel will allow Snow to lean heavily into pace and put pressure on opponents from the opening possession. “We’re going to play really fast.” Defensively, Kitchen wants the Badgers to establish an identity around toughness, pressure and disrupting opposing offenses. “My M.O. as a coach has always been toughness defensively.” The goal is to combine that defensive mentality with the efficient offensive attack that has helped Snow establish itself as one of the programs to watch in the JUCO ranks. “We’re going to try to be up in guys and really cause some havoc and some chaos defensively.” Catch the full conversation with Coach Brad Kitchen on the JUCO Virtual Tour powered by Revocruit.
