A Dog Was Abandoned on an Island Until Someone Finally Found Him

Two researchers paddling past a tiny island off Puerto Rico heard a thin, cracked cry coming across the water. At the end of an old wooden dock stood a starving dog, so weak his legs gave out on the sand, yet he never stopped staring at that empty dock. At the shelter, everyone decided he had simply been left behind, and once the heartworm diagnosis came back, no family wanted him.
