The journey begins among the last colors of autumn. Golden leaves still cover the lower slopes, but as the old road climbs toward the distant peaks, the first snow begins to gather between the rocks and along the roadside. The higher the road climbs, the more the landscape begins to change. Before long, travelers appear on the road, descending from somewhere beyond the pass. Their packs carry unfamiliar goods, their clothes are made for colder country, and the stories they bring offer the first glimpses of a land still hidden behind the mountains. Before the final climb toward the pass, the road reaches a small mountain inn. For generations, travelers crossing these mountains have stopped here for the night. Merchants, craftsmen, and wanderers gather around the fire, warming themselves after the long climb and exchanging stories from both sides of the mountains. Beside the hearth, among old travel records and stories passed from one traveler to another, a larger picture begins to emerge. For generations, this road has carried people, goods, and stories between the lands on either side of the mountains. By morning, the journey continues. Beyond the inn, the last colors of autumn slowly disappear beneath the snow. The old road climbs between towering walls of stone, following a route worn by generations of travelers toward the high pass where two lands meet. At last, the road crosses the mountains. On the other side, the long descent begins. Different trees appear along the slopes. The road itself bears unfamiliar details. Far below, settlements and fields emerge among the highland valleys, along with the first signs of everyday life. Beyond the autumn pass, the land feels familiar enough to belong to the same world, yet different enough to invite another journey. Among the mountains, settlements have taken root, shaped over generations by the landscape, the climate, and the people who call this place home. The pass that once stood far ahead now lies behind. What began as a journey along an old autumn road has become a passage between two lands, following a path walked by countless travelers long before us. There is still much to discover beyond the mountains. For now, follow the descending road a little farther, and see what kind of life awaits in this unfamiliar land.
