In this video, I take a ride on 55 from Oxford Circus to Farringdon. Still in the LT-riding route. Think I've expressed this already, but not the hugest fan of the folding door LTs. I find they've aged worse (naturally, since they're older) than the more up-to-date sliding door ones. Anyhow, I really like the 55 and it's a route I've taken end-to-end before. I should aim to catch it on a conventional, as Enviro400H's and Cities do the route all the time, but I've only ever seen them. It's one of those trunk routes that takes forever to do end-to-end. I remember that I was itching to get off when I did do it because of how long it was starting to take. This is one of the better Central London Routemaster routes I'd argue as you can take away the Central London part and it still has character. Love the Hackney and Lea Valley sections in particular. Definitely worth your while! Route 55 runs between Oxford Circus and Walthamstow Central. It is one of three Stagecoach-operated routes allocated New Routemasters and it runs out of Leyton (T) garage in East London. © 2026 Jayden Emmanuel.
