Bellini - I Capuleti e i Montecchi - Act 1 duet. Anne Sofie von Otter and Amanda Roocroft. 1992

Bellini's Romeo and Juliet opera features an "en travesti" mezzo-soprano Romeo (Anne Sofie von Otter) and a soprano Giulietta (Amanda Roocroft). A rare foray into bel canto for the sublime von Otter. Recorded from a radio broadcast from the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden in 1992, conducted by Daniele Gatti.
