FlamingoNet: Community-Managed Water in Rhonda and Kaptembwa (Nakuru)

A January 2026 baseline found that about 73 percent of households in Rhonda and Kaptembwa receive water only three days a week or fewer. FlamingoNet runs the Nakuru Informal Settlements Water Project with SCEJU FSTP support, working with Nakuru County Government and NAWASSCO. Community Master Operators manage distribution, pre-paid Water ATMs dispense treated water around the clock, and a commercial refilling enterprise helps fund community supply.
