Will add subtitles a bit later on We’ve decided to participate in another dungeon competition and this time it was Shipwrights Regret, and regret there was, but at least we’ve managed to win again. It was only our 3rd clear of the dungeon, first one being over 4 hours long lol. Let’s start with the run itself which was decent, could still improve it by around 10sec with same strats. We’ve had only 1h to make improvement over our previous time (4:44) and we completely change the trash to first boss, so it wasn’t the cleanest we could’ve been. For first boss, we decided to do encounter pull on me which was very different to what we were doing before, we only practices that for a few runs so it wasn’t fully optimised, but we wanted to save a bit more time and do something different and faster than traditional stuff. Our trash between 1st and 2nd boss was also pretty bad, but that’s a bit unfortunate with me somehow not chaining the spriggan on the side and hitting the lurcher. That kinda messed up whole tempo and it feels like we lost a couple seconds. 2nd boss is just pure nuke, wasn’t our best since you can finish it in 1 beam. Trash between 2nd and 3rd literally has nothing interesting going on. Last boss we did initial nuke from 100% – 50% and then 44% to 0% skipping one invulnerability phase. Now, technically it would be possible to nuke 100% to 0% buuuuut it would take ages to actually learn how to do it properly and even more to get it consistent. With how difficult it seemed, we didn’t think any other group would be capable of doing it, so we just gambled that nobody would do it better than us. The dungeon itself could be done sub 4min if you would do the skip on last boss and do a few more optimisations and tech, the main issue is that getting everything correctly for that time would be insanely difficult. For start, the adds on trash are just insanely annoying with random agro, 1st boss can be overpushed super easily, you need to wait for specific mechanics and there’s some rng in getting those mechanics at the right time (it’s small variation, but enough to throw a run and it happens on 1st and last). We definitely got annoyed with the dungeon because of rng and the strats we wanted to do, but couldn’t for various different reasons. Still, I’m happy with what we did, it was pretty solid improvement over previous record and decent time improvement to second place. Well played to all groups that submitted their runs. Thanks to Oridancake and Shugu for hosting the competition. One thing that I will slightly criticise is the “exploit” rule. I think in general exploits are a taboo thing in eso community, but even things that are hardly exploit-y are still looked down upon, but for some reason Ansuul was allowed. In any case, just minor complaints, so w/e.
