To be or not to be tardy

Clarke Central High School students walk to their first period classes on September 23. At the beginning of the 2026-27 school year CCHS adopted a new tardy policy which included lunch detention as a new punishment for arriving to classes late. “Once you reach a certain amount of tardies you have to go spend your lunch with me and we just have a discussion during lunch detention (about) why we're having lunch detention,” CCHS physical education department chair Joshua Dawson said.
