A timelapse road trip across Eastern Europe — 3,300 kilometres, 40+ hours of driving, 9 cities, 4 countries on motorway, countryside and changing landscapes. This timelapse follows a circular journey from Milan/Italy through Austria, Slovakia, Poland and Czechia, before returning to Italy through Germany and Switzerland. 🇮🇹 Milan → 🇦🇹 Graz The journey begins in Milan and heads east towards Graz, crossing the Alps and entering Austria. 🇦🇹 Graz → Vienna From Graz to Vienna, travelling through the Austrian countryside towards the country's capital. 🇦🇹 Vienna → 🇸🇰 Bratislava A short drive connecting two European capitals, from Vienna to Bratislava south of the Danube. 🇸🇰 Bratislava → 🇵🇱 Krakow Leaving Slovakia behind and heading north into Poland, towards historic Krakow. 🇵🇱 Krakow → Warsaw Crossing Poland from south to north, connecting two of the country's most important cities. 🇵🇱 Warsaw → Wroclaw Continuing west across Poland towards Wroclaw. This leg of the journey also brought one of the most intense moments of the driving: a powerful summer thunderstorm hit the motorway, reducing visibility to almost nothing and making the drive particularly challenging. 🇵🇱 Wroclaw → 🇨🇿 Prague Crossing the Polish-Czech border and continuing south towards Prague. 🇨🇿 Prague → 🇩🇪 Munich From the Czech capital through Bavaria to Munich, the final stop before heading back towards Italy. 🇩🇪 Munich → 🇮🇹 Milan The final leg of the journey, crossing Germany and then Switzerland before crossing the Alps once again and returning to Milan by north route. ☀️ When: The journey took place during the two middle weeks of August, right in the heart of summer.
