Stanley Park Turns 100, But Dad Got There First! | Blackpool Drone Show

Stanley Park turned 100, but my dad got there first! On Saturday 3 October 2026, Sarah, Josh, Mae and I took my dad Lewis to Stanley Park in Blackpool for its centenary drone show. Lewis celebrated his 100th birthday in August 2026. With the park officially opening on 2 October 1926, Dad is slightly older than the place we were celebrating! Seeing “100 YEARS” written across the sky with him beside us made this a night we’ll never forget. The display above the park’s lake was created by Celestial, the team behind the drone show filmed at Stanley Park for Britain’s Got Talent in 2025. It rounded off a day of centenary celebrations organised by Blackpool Council with the Friends of Stanley Park, Enveco and other partners. This film brings together highlights of the show and our evening together: Lewis, Jonathan, Sarah, Josh and Mae. A special night for Blackpool, and an even more special one for our family. Filmed at Stanley Park, Blackpool, Lancashire, on 3 October 2026. Footage enhanced and edited into a family keepsake. The original event soundtrack has been removed and replaced with licensed music.
