Welcome back and if you are NEW to my channel WELCOME! Today I went to meet up with my buddy of mine to fish the Saginaw River in Saginaw, Michigan for Walleye the last day the Walleye season. It will re open at the end of April. They close the river for walleye fishing to allow for un interfered spawning. We were using a method called “vertical jigging” and it’s just that. Jigging a jig head and preferred plastic trailer off the bottom while maintaining a vertical presentation. It’s a very common and effective way to fish walleye in river systems. In particular, I was using a 1/2oz jig head with a chartreuse Bondy Baits “Bondy Worm”. I usually have great success with 4” Fin-S minnows but wanted to give these new worm like plastics a try and they produced GREAT! I’m still chasing after a big 40” northern pike guys and from the looks of the weather I’ve got a very short window to make it happen on the ice but will continue the quest on open water if need be. I appreciate ALL of you guys supporting my channel and watching my videos! It means the world to me!
