Turbine Hall: Dark Ambient Sleep Music | Abandoned Factory Ambience for Sleep

I counted the turbines again tonight. Forty-one, as the list says. I heard forty-two. ________________________________ The hall runs further than the light does. The turbines stand in one row down its length, each one housed like a chapel, each with its number cast into the casing. Forty-one of them, listed in order, commissioned in the same year and shut down on the same night. The roof is somewhere above the haze. Where panels have fallen, light comes down in long pale bars and lies across the floor plates at the same angle every morning. The floor is dry. The oil sumps under every unit were drained and sealed and signed for. Every sump but one has stayed dry. Thank you for listening. Music synthesized in SuperCollider.
