Laminate Sample #4: Prepreg Carbon Plate with Quasi-Isotropic Balanced and Symmetrical Laminate

Laminate Sample #4 in the Explore Composites! Materials Library: This video shows layup, vacuum bagging and cooking/curing of a 3mm carbon plate, made with Gurit SE84LV pre-preg. The laminate is balanced (symmetrical about the neutral axis/mid-ply of the laminate) and in a quasi-isotropic ("QI") ply orientation. QI panels have an equal amount of reinforcement running in each orientation. NOTE: I made a mistake on the weights noted in the title screen to the video. The panel weight should be 410g/14.75 oz per square foot.
