She tells Khanderao how Ahilya had never shown the sadness of his absence on her face and never let it overwhelm her duties. Ahilya cries harder at this and Gautama Bai consoles her that the timer has arrived for her tears to stop. She then scolds Ahilya as she had forgotten to send him a message that Khanderao is back.
