Hic Bibi Nature Reserve, Coppull | TIME-LAPSE, DJI MAVIC DRONE, NATURE CAM | Above the water series

This episode features the Nature Reserve know as Hic Bibi. The site is a Biological Heritage Site, Site of Importance for Nature Conservation, a great crested newt site and recognised by English Nature, Lancashire Trust for Nature Conservation and the Chorley and District Natural History Society. The name Hic Bibi is derived from Latin and means, “here drink I”. Nearby Hic Bibi Lane is an ancient Roman Road, it is believed that the name Hic Bibi was given to the well along this track by Oliver Cromwell. The derelict site was said to be the most northerly breeding ground of the harvest mouse and reputed to be an important Civil War battle ground. Local historians claim it was christened Hic Bibi - meaning "Here I Drink" - by Oliver Cromwell. A short brick and stone culvert carrying the Hic Bibi brook was built beneath the west coast main lineand is a popular attraction for walkers. It is said to be where Oliver Cromwell refreshed himself when advancing south after the battle of Preston in 1648. A stone inscribed "Hic Bibi" ("Here I Drink") apparently marks the site, but I couldn't find it. In this new series of 'Above the Water", I'll be exploring our local countryside and waterways to capture the natural beauty often hidden away or unknown to most of us. Using a variety of photo and videography equipment, I'll hopefully improve my technique and develope a style to put to use when we can finally travel again.
