✝️ Señor de los Milagros 2026 🇵🇪 Grand Purple Procession in Lima! | Parade Planet (4K)

Every October, Lima turns purple. ✝️ The Señor de los Milagros — the Lord of Miracles — draws one of the largest religious processions on Earth through the colonial streets of Peru's capital, and in 2026 the grandest recorridos fill the city on Sunday, October 18 and Monday, October 19. The devotion began around 1651, when an Angolan slave painted the image of the dark-skinned Christ — the Cristo Moreno — on a wall in Pachacamilla. When earthquakes leveled Lima, that wall alone remained standing, and the Lord of Miracles has processed through the city every October since. October in Peru is the "mes morado," the purple month: the faithful wear the purple habit with a white cord, and the whole capital dresses in violet. In this video, experience the grand procession in full splendor: the colossal andas de plata, a multi-tiered silver shrine blazing in the sun and heaped with flowers, carried on the shoulders of the purple-robed cargadores; the sahumadoras in lace mantillas walking backward before it, swinging great bronze censers through clouds of incense; brass bands playing the Marcha del Señor de los Milagros; festejo dancers in blazing colors; and a sea of purple faithful pouring through the Plaza Mayor beneath the Lima Cathedral. ✝️ Featured in this video: • The grand processions of October 18–19, 2026 in Lima • The giant silver anda of the Cristo Moreno • Sahumadoras, cantoras and the brotherhood of cargadores • Plaza Mayor, Lima Cathedral and the colonial old city Have you ever seen a city turn entirely purple for its Lord?
