We Fixed This 18 Handicap’s Release… Then Fitted His Driver

Struggling to strike your driver well or square the clubface at impact? In this video, we help an 18 handicap improve his release—and dramatically improve his ball striking. Then we get back to fitting a driver that suits his improved swing. He came in for a driver fitting, and his strike was consistent… just consistently poor! Before we could get the most out of the equipment, we needed to work on how he was delivering the club. We paused the fitting to work on his release and squaring the clubface—including a “CAST IT” feel that might sound like the last thing you should tell an 18 handicap. His delivery and strike improved dramatically, giving us a much better starting point for the rest of the fitting. We then tested drivers from Callaway, PING, Titleist, Cobra and TaylorMade to find a suitable match.
