Men's Soccer: Pioneers vs. Crown College (TN) | Senior Day | October 8, 2021

Campbellsville University Harrodsburg men’s soccer celebrated Senior Day at Hilpp Family Field on October 8, 2021, honoring Brandon Ballard and Hunter Vance before taking on Crown College (Tennessee). The Pioneers delivered an offensive showcase on the occasion, scoring five times in the opening half and four more after the break to earn a 9-2 victory. Fittingly, the two seniors were right in the middle of the action. Brandon Ballard turned in a remarkable Senior Day performance with three goals and five assists, having a hand in eight of Harrodsburg’s nine goals. Hunter Vance added a goal of his own in the second half. Bailey Pittman scored twice and added two assists, while Gavin Hawkins, Ace Canales and Gavin Padgett also found the back of the net for the Pioneers. The afternoon carried particular meaning for Ballard, a Harrodsburg native who transferred to CU Harrodsburg when the soccer program was launched in 2020. His senior season would become an important chapter in the young program’s history, and he would later become the first graduate of the CU Harrodsburg soccer program. For Ballard and Vance, this was an opportunity to be recognized at home and take the field at Hilpp Family Field as seniors — surrounded by the teammates, coaches and program they had helped build. The 2021 season still had some of its biggest moments ahead. Harrodsburg would go on to earn its first win over NCAA competition against Berea College and advance to the NCCAA Mideast Regional Championship match. But on this October afternoon, the focus was on two Pioneers and their contributions to a program that was still writing its earliest chapters. This game is preserved as part of the Campbellsville University Harrodsburg Athletics Archive, documenting the games, people, places and moments that shaped Pioneer Athletics.
