StatiVein - Smiling While I Disappear People who know me see someone who jokes around, cares about people, tries to be friendly, and usually has a smile on his face. That version of me is real, but it’s not the whole truth. Behind that smile, I fight a side of myself that I rarely let anyone see. I can hate my life. I can hate the person staring back at me in the mirror. I can feel completely drained inside while still making everyone around me believe I’m okay. I’ve gotten very good at hiding pain. Sometimes being the person who makes everyone else laugh is easier than admitting that you’re falling apart yourself.
