Starting the side project of DIY Honda CT125 maintenance and tuning. Please don't judge and try to enjoy!
To be honest, front suspension on a Honda Trail Cub CT125 is not strong at all. With my almost 100 kg self and more than 20 kg of luggage during my RTW trip I was in a constant search of a better option.
First I opted for YSS complete kit including rear shocks and front fork kit. And while the rear shocks was one of the best investments so far, the front fork kit was disappointing. Too weak, too easy to bottom. Even fully preloaded it was absolutely useless.
Chiang Rai Cub House mechanic suggested to try Öhlins FSK 161 fork kit. I have bought it for 6'350 baht and boy it is worth every penny. Even with NO preload at all it just works!
I was sure I will change the springs, caps and oil by myself in less than our. I did it before with YSS. Mistaken I was. To avoid my mistake watch this video!
