People Have Been Drinking Coca-Cola Like THIS for 100 Years

People have been putting peanuts in Coca-Cola for around 100 years, but why? This old-school Southern tradition, sometimes called a Farmer’s Coke, goes back to the 1920s. The commonly told story is that farmers and other workers would pour salted peanuts directly into their Coca-Cola so they could enjoy a snack without constantly reaching into the bag with dirty hands. It sounds crazy at first... but once you hear the story behind peanuts in Coke, it actually starts to make sense. So I grabbed a Coca-Cola and some salted peanuts and recreated this 100-year-old Southern tradition for myself. But there's still one question that history can't answer for me: Does Farmer’s Coke actually taste good?
