FFXI In Focus | FFXI in 2026: Updated Free Trial, New Player Experience & Progression

This week on FFXI In Focus, Dex and Heghmoh take a look at what it’s like to start—and progress through—Final Fantasy XI today. We discuss the updated FFXI Free Trial, the modern new-player experience, recent campaigns and additions designed to help players get established, and the increasingly important question of mid-tier progression: what do you do once you've reached Level 99, but aren't quite ready for the highest levels of endgame? We also dig into Trusts and Trust Points, gearing and progression options, where newer and returning players can find their footing, and some of the gaps that still exist between reaching 99 and becoming endgame-ready. Plus, we answer member-submitted questions and discuss topics suggested by the FFXI community. 💬 Have a question or topic you'd like us to discuss on a future episode?
